How the age calculation works
Age is not just "today's year minus your birth year" — that only works on and after your birthday. This calculator counts your completed years, then the whole months since your last birthday, then the leftover days, giving the exact age you would state out loud. Below that it shows cumulative totals: how many days, weeks and months you have been alive, which are handy for milestones like a 10,000-day birthday. Everything is computed on the real calendar, including leap years. To count the gap between two arbitrary dates instead, use the days between dates tool.

- How do I calculate my exact age?
- Enter your date of birth above. This tool shows your age in years, months and days as of today, and also the total number of days, weeks and months you have lived. Change the "age at" date to find your age on any past or future day.
- How is age in years, months and days worked out?
- Age counts completed years first, then the leftover completed months, then the remaining days — the same way you would say "26 years and 2 months old". Because months have different lengths, the day count borrows from the correct preceding month, so the result is exact rather than an average.
- Does it handle leap-year birthdays (29 February)?
- Yes. The calendar arithmetic is exact, so a 29 February birthday is counted against the real calendar. In non-leap years your "leap birthday" falls between 28 February and 1 March, and the day count reflects that.
- Is my date of birth sent anywhere?
- No. The whole calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, stored or shared — there is no server round-trip and no tracking of the value.
